Honda Odyssey Service Manual: Sliding Door Front Latch Replacement

NOTE: Put on gloves to protect your hands.

1. Remove the latch remote control assembly and the latch remote control assembly cover.

1. Disconnect the outer handle cable.

3. Release the hooks (A), then remove the pinch sensor cover (B).

4. Disconnect the pinch sensor connector (A), and detach the harness clips (B).

5. Detach the cable clip (C), and remove the cable grommet (D), then remove the outer handle cable (E).

6. Remove the front latch (A) through the hole in the door.

   1. Remove the screws.

   1. Disconnect the front latch cable (B).

7. Release the hooks (A), then remove the latch protector (B).

8. Remove the foam seal (A).

9. Do the sliding door cable adjustment on the front latch cable.

10. Install the front latch in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:

    • If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened replace them with new ones.

    • Take care not to bend any of the cables.

    • Make sure the connector is plugged in properly, and the cable is routed properly and connected securely.

    • Make sure the door locks and opens properly.

    • Push the clips and hooks into place securely.
