Honda Odyssey Service Manual: Front Passenger's Weight Sensor Replacement

Removal

NOTE:

  • Removal of the front passenger's weight sensors must be done according to Precautions and Procedures.

  • The front passenger's weight sensor is part of the seat rail and must be replaced as an assembly.

  1. Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure, then wait at least 3 minutes before starting work.

  1. Remove the front passenger's seat rail/front passenger's weight sensors as an assembly.


Installation

NOTE:

  • Be sure to install the harness wires so they are not pinched or interfering with other parts.

  • The front passenger's weight sensor is part of the seat rail and must be replaced as an assembly.

  1. Install the removed parts to the new front passenger's seat rail/front passenger's weight sensors as an assembly.

  1. Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure.

  1. Clear any DTCs with the HDS.

  1. Do the front passenger's weight sensor unit initialization.

  1. Do the front passenger's weight sensor unit operation check.

  1. Confirm proper SRS operation: Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode, and check that the SRS indicator comes on for about 6 seconds and then goes off.
