NOTE:

  • Put on gloves to protect your hands.

  • Take care not to scratch the door.

  1. Remove the latch remote control assembly.

  1. Release the cable holder (A) and the fastener (B), then disconnect the outer handle cable (C).

  2. CABReplace.
  1. Remove the plug cap (A).

  2. A

  1. Remove the bolt, then remove the outer handle protector (A).

  2. Fastener Location? : Bolt, 1A6 x 1.0 mm9.4 N·m(0.96 kgf·m, 6.9 lbf·ft)
  1. Remove the outer handle spacer (A).

    1. Disconnect the door outer handle connector (B).

    1. Detach the harness clips (C, D).

    1. Remove the bolt.

  2. AB6 x 1.0 mm9.4 N·m(0.96 kgf·m, 6.9 lbf·ft)Fastener Location? : Bolt, 1CD

  1. Hold the outer handle base (A) and pull out on the outer handle (B) to raise the outer handle weight (C).

  2. CBA??
  1. While holding the outer handle (A) as describe above, roll the top edge of the outer handle base (B) down, and pull the outer handle base out from the door, then slide the outer handle forward to remove it.

  2. ??BA?

  1. Remove the cable fastener (A) from the outer handle (B), then replace it with a new one.

  2. BAReplace.B
  3. Install the outer handle in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:

    • Make sure the connector is plugged in properly, and the cable is connected securely.

    • Make sure the door lock and the door handle operate properly.

    • Make sure the plastic cover on the door is installed properly and sealed around its outside perimeter to seal out water.
