Honda Odyssey Service Manual / Electrical / Charging / Over-Run Alternator Decoupler (OAD) Pulley Removal and Installation / Installation

  1. Loosely tighten the OAD pulley (A), then insert the alternator OAD pulley holder (B) into the OAD pulley.

  1. Place a 10 mm deep socket wrench (A) through center of the alternator OAD pulley holder (B), onto the hex on the end of the alternator shaft.

    2. ABC

  2. Hold the alternator OAD pulley holder with a 17 mm wrench (C), then tighten the alternator shaft counterclockwise to the specified torque.

    Specified Torque:

    80 N·m (8.2 kgf·m, 59 lbf·ft)

  1. Install the new OAD pulley seal cap (A).

    NOTE:

    • When installing do not distort the OAD pulley seal cap.

    • Make sure to check that the cap is installed securely.

    2. AReplace.

  1. Install the alternator.
