Honda Odyssey Service Manual: Lane Departure Warning (LDW) System

The LDW system alerts with the MID indication and buzzer sounding when the vehicle has possibilities to deviate from the driving lane, a lane deviation alarm functions to warn driver. The LDW system utilizes a FCW/LDW camera and the image processing software to detect the lane boundaries and analyze the vehicle and the driving inputs to determine unintentional lane out.

  • This system detects a slight movement of a steering wheel.

  • This system turns on and off according to operation of the LDW OFF switch.

  • Line width, length, and continuousness detected as a feature of the line from the image captured by the FCW/LDW camera, in order to judge and evaluate whether it is a lane, and recognized as a lane on the road.

  • Lateral direction control to maintain a lane consists of recognizing a lane on the road correctly by the image process system. This system can recognize complicated lanes such as broken lines, double broken lines, and blanches.

  • Setting speed range is 40-90 mph (64-145 km/h).
